How to obtain a work permit for a foreign citizen in Ukraine?

Who can hire a foreigner?

When is a work permit not required?

A foreign national does not need a work permit only if he or she is applying for a permanent residence permit. Such a document is also not required for media workers and guest lecturers. All of the above situations are exceptional.

The procedure for submitting documents

The regulatory framework is periodically amended. It is not easy for a person without a legal education to understand this issue. Along with the personal documents of the foreigner who is invited to fill the vacancy, a draft employment agreement with the employee is also submitted.

The application is reviewed. If there are no grounds for refusal, the employer is sent a notice with a positive decision and details for paying the state fee. Upon payment of the fee, the employer receives a work permit for the foreigner.

The employer has 90 days to conclude an employment contract with the employee. A signed copy of the agreement is submitted to the authorized body.

If false information is provided, this may result in the revocation of the permit.
